I never knew love like this before,
Now I’m lonely never more,
Since you came into my life…
You are my lovelight, this I know
And I’ll never let you go,
You my all, you’re heart, part of me..
Once I was lost and now I’m found,
Then you turned my world around,
When I need you, I call your name…

Events
We initially planned to organise the monthly meeting on October 14th. However, few things messed up and we had to shift it to today. 12 members were present in the meeting, which was held at Metronet office in Gulshan 2. We started at 17:00, and mainly discussed about our upcoming projects, which are:
- Royal Bengal Linux
- Creative Commons
- Mirror Server Project
- Media Distribution Project
There was a lot of brainstorming, and we got some good ideas and suggestions form our fellow members. My appreciation to everyone who joined on the meeting, specially to Mr. Rafiqul Islam who acted as the event manager and Mr. Ferdous Azam Khan, CEO of Metronet who was our host. Sorry, no pictures of the event as none of us were carrying a camera!
Just in case if you need to change the MAC address of your NIC to trick your ISP:
ifconfig eth0 down hw ether 12:34:56:78:90:AB
ifconfig eth0 up
Replace 12:34:56:78:90:AB with a “valid” MAC address.

On The Road
Timeline: October 9 – October 11
Setting up the Khulna center was my last assignment from Relief International. I’ve been working for this international aid agency since May 2005, and I finally realised that it’s time to quit. I resigned last month, and September 31st was officially my last day at work. For last two weeks, I’ve been helping them out as a volunteer, and mentoring my assistant Alamgir whom I’ve nominated for my position.

My work at Khulna took only few hours, so I got a good chance to roam around the city. I visited the zero point, Khulna University campus, Khulna court, the “Jail Khana Ghaat” on the banks of Rupsa river, the New Market, Meena Bazar, and Daily Purbanchal office.
The Khulna Meena Bazar is almost the same size of the Dhaka one, but has one third of the products that our one has. I went there to buy Playboy deodorant for myself but couldn’t find it.
Overall, it was a good trip. I boarded at Hotel Royal as usual and I’m giving them 8.5 out 10 for their service. No beer this time since it’s Ramadan.

Tech Stuffs
I got myself a DVD burner today. It’s an ASUS DRW 1608P3S drive, which can write at maximum of 16X on DVD±R, 8X on DVD+RW, 6X on DVD-RW, 8X on DVD±R (Double Layer), 5X on DVD-RAM, 40X on CD-R, 32X on CD-RW, and can read at maximum of 16X on DVD-ROM and 40X on CD-ROM.
I also got myself 1 gigabyte TwinMOS DDR RAM, making my system happier with a whooping 2.25 gigabyte memory. Cool, huh?
