Bloglebrity

According to a Technorati tool named “Bloglebrity“, I’m classified as a “D” listed blogger. According to this tool, this blog is categorised under the “Low Authority Group”, which means:

Bloglebrity“The average blog age (the number of days that the blog has been in existence) is about 228 days, which shows a real commitment to blogging. However, bloggers of this type average only 12 posts per month, meaning that their posting habits are generally dedicated but infrequent.”

Update on December 17:

Bloglebrity

I got promoted to the “Middle Authority Group”, which means:

“This contrasts somewhat with the second group, which enjoys an average age not much older than the first at 260 days and which posts 50% more frequently than the first. There is a clear correlation between posting volume and Technorati authority ranking.”

Jenny’s Debut Bangla Movie

While passing Anondo cinema hall at Farmgate, the large backdrop of the newest Bangla movie caught my attention. One of the girls on the backdrop looked familiar. I went in for a closer inspection and recognised her. She was none other than Jenny, my friend Farhan’s fiance.

I called up my friend who was in a state of shock. We decided to watch the 6 o’clock show. The movie itself was totally crap, but not as vulgar as we thought it be. It’s just that there was an attempt-to-rape scene on Jenny, a moderately-erotic song where she wore shorts and tight blouse, and some touch-hug-kiss-fondle scenes. Can’t call it too obscene since topless and make out scenes are becoming norm in the latest Bangla movies.

Just to mention, it’s the second time I’ve been to a Cinema hall in Dhaka. The first time was in 1998 when I watched Titanic in Modhumita.

IRC G2G Party

If you’re my friend or colleague, then you already know my level of IRC addiction. I’ve been spending most of my tube time socialising on DALnet since 1999, though I first tried it two years prior to that. To be honest, my first impression about IRC wasn’t too good — but later I found myself hooked up to it and there was no way back.

IRC G2G Party
I’ve spent countless days and nights on maintaining #Mastermind, making friends, trying to get operator access on as many channels as possible, learning mIRC and Eggdrop scripting, and doing all those crazy stuffs. I still have more IRC friends then real life ones, with whom I’ve had some of my most amazing experiences.

Since it’s a virtual community, the users doesn’t really get to meet each other often. Usually meetups happen on one to one basis, and sometimes in groups of limited number. Only few meetups or get together parties in a truely “grand scale” were organised till now, but sadly I couldn’t join any of them. However, today was my lucky day.

Sakif Ahmed of IRC4Fun Network and his friends threw a party at Swarma Palace in Dhanmondi, and I was thrilled to meet a good number of DALnet users with whom I’m been chatting for years. It was particularly exciting to meet Addler, |aZy_|iZaa^, MAN__, sakifahmed, Tankibazzz, MonoroM, Artcell, NeelOnjona and my old friend DaarKak. We all had a rocking time together!

I thank the organisers for throwing this party — it gave us a great opportunity to meet the fellow chatters all under one roof! I hope to meet more people on the next party!

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, which is a virtual meeting place where people from all over the world can meet and talk. This multi-user chat system was written by Jarkko Oikarinen in 1988, which makes it a protocol older then the World Wide Web (defined and explained in RFC 1459). More information about IRC can be found on IRChelp.org.

Abortion Kills

Post Image

“Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love but to use violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.” – Mother Teresa

When it come to abortion, you’ll find two groups of people: one who believes that abortion is killing a human being, and the other who believes that every women has the right to determine and control what happens to her own body.

For obvious reasons, I belong the to first group. I’m strongly against abortions or killing the human fetus. It’s a cruel manner of terminating the life of a human being, and we should all oppose it. However, if an abortion must be performed, then it should be done only under the following conditions, within the first trimester:

1. unwanted pregnancy while the girl is under the age of sixteen
2. forced intercourse
3. to preserve the health of the mother (serious medical or psychological problems)

The baby’s heart starts beating between 18 to 25 days of conception. In one month time, the baby’s eyes, legs, and hands begin to develop. In 40 days, the baby’s brain waves can be detected, her lips are present and fingernails are formed. By two and half months or 12 weeks, the baby can experience pain — she now has the spinal cord, nerves and the thalamus. The sweetest thing happens on the 17th week: she can now have dreams. Now you tell me: wouldn’t it be a cruel decision to kill this baby?

Abortion Kills

Every abortion is just…
One more heart that was stopped.
Two more eyes that will never see.
Two more hands that will never touch.
Two more legs that will never run.
One more mouth that will never speak.

Don’t support abortions. Don’t support the doctors who performs abortions. Say yes to life.

This blog post is dedicated in memory of the unborn children, victims of abortion.
