Addicted to Flickr

I’ve been using Flickr for one and half year, and right now I’m completely hooked to it. I had a hard time to get rid of my Facebook addiction, but seems like giving up Flickr wouldn’t be easy. But hey, I don’t need to do so, cause it’s helping me to improve my photography skills and acquire more knowledge on photo-taking techniques by seeing the works for renowned photographers from around the world. So yay for me!

Flickr Pro Account, Yeah!

I was looking forward to get myself a Flickr Pro account for the last couple of weeks, and today Omi bhai gave me a pleasant surprise by gifting me one.

I can now store unlimited pictures, create unlimited sets and collections, archive high-resolution images, replace photos, access visitor statistics, and have much more fun! Woohoo!

Thanks to everyone who has called, emailed, and wished me on Facebook, Flickr, and Hi5! I didn’t knew I had so many well wishers!

It just couldn’t get any better than this… I’m so happy!

Sharif bhai opened a thread on our Flickr group where a lot of people had wished me… Shahriar bhai greeted me the Flickr way!

Ahsan Manzil Visit

I’ve been hearing about Ahsan Manzil since childhood, but never got the chance to visit it since it’s located in a different part of Dhaka. I went to that area for the first two months ago, and decided to go there again to visit the Ahsan Manzil. So my friend Shan and I kept making plans and finally went there today… and it was worth it. It’s a beautiful architectural monument that reminded me of our gloried past.

Located on the banks of Buriganaga river and very near to Sadarghat Launch Terminal, it was the residential palace of the Nawabs of Dhaka. Now turned into a museum, it has 31 rooms and 23 galleries displaying portraits, furnitures and household articles and utensils used by the Nawabs.

Closed on Thursday, the museum is open from 10:30 to 17:30 on weekdays, and 15:00 to 19:30 on Friday during summer time (April – September). During winter (October – March), it’s open from 9:30 to 16:30 on weekdays and 15:00 to 19:30 on Friday. Go ahead and spend an hour or two at Ahsan Manzil and enjoy it’s beauty only in return of a 2 taka entry fee.
