BSAFE is a security awareness training from UNDSS. It replaces both Basic Security in the Field (BSITF) and Advanced Security in the Field (ASITF) trainings which are no longer valid since June 30, 2019. BSAFE is mandatory for all UN personnel, including staff, interns and consultants.
The training covers variety of safety and security topics, including: protecting your home and dependants, preparing for travel, safe driving, first aid, diversity and gender issues, sexual exploitation and abuse, security risk management, hostage taking, ERW and IED, landmines, active shooters, interacting with security, and much more.
