Artemis I will be the first integrated flight test of NASA’s deep space exploration system: the Orion spacecraft, Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the ground systems at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
NASA is offering a unique way for people to participate in its upcoming Artemis I mission later this year by giving them a chance to have their names flown around the moon. Those who sign up will have their name saved on a flash drive, which will be taken into space aboard Orion capsule, as part of its Artemis 1 mission.
Upon signing up participants will also receive a virtual boarding pass featuring their name and details about the spaceflight.
Update: The 100-metre tall Space Launch System (SLS) rocket with the Orion spacecraft aboard lifted off at 12:47 PM BST from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA on November 16, 2022.
